Paul Pogba’s agent says Roma turned down the chance to sign his client last summer, before the young midfielder moved to Juventus.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a prosperous season to date, scoring four goals in 14 appearances after leaving Manchester United at the end of his contract.

“Pogba? Before he went to Juve, I offered him to Roma,” Mino Raiola told Radio Radio.

“Walter Sabatini [Roma’s director of football] however, said no.

“It was then that Juve came, and they wanted to get him.”

Pogba has been a regular for the Bianconeri this season, recently grabbing a brace in a 4-0 home win over Udinese, but was an unused substitute in the Turin side’s last match, a 2-1 defeat away to Lazio.
