Brazil’s Olympic football team, featuring Ronaldinho and Robinho, will face Vietnam in a warm-up for the Beijing Games, an official said Friday.
The friendly is scheduled for Hanoi’s My Dinh stadium on August 1, said Tran Quoc Tuan, general secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
“This is good news for football fans and players in Vietnam,” he told AFP.
“This is also a very rare opportunity for us to meet with renowned players from Brazil,” Tuan added.
Ticket prices and team line-ups will be released on the federation’s official website, he said, adding that Ronaldinho and Robinho “are in the list of the 18-member team sent to VFF from Brazil”.
Ronaldinho has just completed an 18.5-million-euro move from Barcelona to AC Milan, while Robinho plays for Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The fixture is part of Brazil’s preparations for Beijing which get underway on August 8.
According to VN Express online newspaper, tickets will be sold at between 200,000 dong (12 dollars) and 700,000 dong.
