Paris Saint-Germain defender Mamadou Sakho is pleased with his side’s unbeaten start to the season.
The big-spending Parisians – who signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva from AC Milan in the off-season among others – have started their Ligue 1 campaign in impressive fashion, recording three wins and three draws from their first six matches.
Despite being six points behind the high-flying Marseille – who have won all of their league fixtures – the 22-year-old Sakho says his side have plenty to be happy about.
“We have a lot to be optimistic about, because in the team there are plenty of experienced players,” Sakho told reporters.
“They’ll know how to handle our upcoming matches and help the younger players, like me, to get through them well. Who can beat Paris right now? Maybe Paris. For the moment, we just need to string together the good performances. That’s how we’ll build up our confidence.”
Fresh off a 4-0 win at Bastia, PSG host Sochaux in their next Ligue 1 fixture on Saturday.
