It has not been a good start to the season for Sampdoria. The club from Genoa is doing poorly so far, with just three points after the first six matches, winning once and losing the remaining five. They are sitting in 20th place in Serie A standings and things are not looking good for them.
But they might get some help very soon. Andrea Bertolacci is reportedly close to joining them. According to Calciomercato, former AC Milan defender is close to a free transfer move to Sampdoria. He left AC Milan last summer, upon the ending of his contract with Rosonerri and the 28-year-old could be a big asset for Sampdoria in their potential relegation battle.
The midfielder is believed to have received several offers but is now in advanced discussions with Sampdoria with an agreement close to being reached. With 14 goals Sampdoria already conceded, they could use some help at the back.
