San Jose Earthquakes have completed the signing of French defender Paul Marie, it has been revealed.
The 22-year-old was 12th overall selection in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft, but he was immediately sent on loan to USL outfit Reno 1868 FC.
Marie will get a chance to prove his worth in the second tier, while San Jose Earthquakes have the option to recall him at any time this year.
The talented defender had come through the youth ranks at Caen and also represented France at Under-16 level, before moving to the United States.
Marie impressed at Florida International University, having produced 14 goals and as many assists in 52 league appearances.
