Schalke agree deal for Nastasic

French daily newspaper L’Equipe has suggested that Schalke have all but reached an agreement to sign Serbian defender Matija Nastasic from Manchester City.

The Miners recently confirmed their interest in the former Fiorentina starlet and they seem to be closing in on the highly rated footballer.

According to L’Equipe, a deal worth €13 million is set to be wrapped up, although Nastasic has yet to agree personal terms with the Bundesluga side.

The Serbian defender was looking for a way out of Etihad, having been deemed surplus to requirements by manager Manuel Pellegrini.

And while several Serie A sides also expressed their interest, Schalke were the first club to step up their efforts and they now look set to complete a very good deal for the club.

The Miners are currently level on points with fourth-placed Borussia M’gladbach and they can be backed at 11/8 to achieve a top 4 finish.
