Seattle join race for Felipe Melo

Seattle Sounders are weighing up a summer bid for Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo, according to Tuttosport.

The MLS side are hoping to add one more high-profile player to their ranks after signing Obafemi Martins from Levante in March.

Seattle have made an official inquiry into the availability of the Brazilian midfielder, but they could face a stiff competition for the player’s signature.

Felipe Melo has just returned to Juventus following a two-year loan spell with Galatasaray and the Turkish giants are prepared to offer between €3m and €4m for an outright transfer.

Meanwhile, several Brazilian clubs including Sao Paulo and Cruzeiro are keeping close tabs on the experienced midfielder, with the Bianconeri hoping to sell to the highest bidder.

Felipe Melo, who joined Juventus in a €25 million move from arch rivals Fiorentina, has made a total of 62 Super Lig appearances during the loan spell with Galatasaray, notching no less than 13 goals in the process.
