With a spot in the semi-finals up for grabs in the early hours of Wednesday morning, defending champions Seattle will welcome LAFC to CenturyLink Field in midweek.

Starting with the hosts, while Seattle might have almost limped themselves over the finish line in the MLS’ regular-season campaign, the Greens certainly laid down a real marker last time out. Signing off their year with a real flurry, Brian Schmetzer’s men picked up a thumping 4-1 romp against San Jose and they’re already seen as one of the leading contenders to defend their crown this season. With leading marksman and Peru international Raul Ruidiaz bagging back-to-back strikes and expected to lead the line in midweek, Seattle have really impressed many with their continued success on home soil. Including that thumping victory over the Earthquakes last time out, Wednesday’s hosts are unbeaten in each of their last seven MLS matchups at CenturyLink, winning six of those appearances.

As for the visitors, although Los Angeles might have managed to secure themselves a play-off spot in the Western Conference, the Whites have really gained a reputation for their rather glaring issues on the road. Facing what is a tough test in midweek if they’re to extend on their end of season adventure, Bob Bradley’s men were last seen away from the Banc of California Stadium getting hit with a 3-2 defeat against San Jose. Even more concerning for the one-time Swansea City boss, the guests have remarkably managed to clinch just a single MLS victory on their travels since the end of July. Blown away thanks to a 3-0 drumming the last time they made the trip to Washington, we’re backing a similar Seattle victory in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
