The Senegal Football Federation (FSF) has received 54 applications for the post of head coach of the national team.

The position is currently being handled by interim trainers Karim Sega and Aliou Cisse, after Amara Traore was fired in the wake of a disastrous 2012 Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

The FSF is studying the CVs with priority to be given to past records, experience in both international and African football, charisma needed to handle the team’s talents and a vision on how to develop the country’s football.

“If we discover a profile, whether nationally or international, that suits us, we will not hesitate to invite that person, even if he did not apply for the job,” the FSF chief Augustin Senghor told reporters in Dakar.

Former Cagliari coach Massimo Ficcadenti and former Bordeaux and Sainte Etienne manager Elie Baup have applied for the position.
