Sevilla 13/10 to beat Borussia Dortmund in Wednesday’s Champions League knockout tie

Competition: Champions League

Market: Sevilla win

Odds: 13/10 @ 888sport

With a chance to pick up an early advantage on Tuesday night, Sevilla will welcome German outfit Borussia Dortmund to the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

Starting with the hosts, picking up a deserved 1-0 win at home against Huesca over the weekend, Sevilla have continued to gain a string of plaudits from across Europe this season. Still boosted by what was a shock 2-0 victory against Barcelona while on Copa del Rey duties last week, Los Palanganas have really impressed on either side of the festive break. Remarkably, Julen Lopetegui’s men have won each of their last nine straight matchups across all formats and the mood in their camp is at a red-hot high. Suffering just a single defeat since way back on December 5th, there is no doubt that the former Spain boss will be hugely excited by his side’s continued success at the back. Recording another clean sheet against Huesca last time out, Sevilla have not picked the ball out of their own net in over 700 minutes of action.

As for the visitors, while Borussia Dortmund might have managed to snatch a late 2-2 draw at home against Hoffenheim last weekend, Die Borussen have continued to show a string of inconsistencies. With their recent issues highlighted by a shock 2-1 defeat against Freiburg on February 6th, interim boss Edin Terzić has seen his side win just one of their last six Bundesliga contests, a run that stems back to the start of January. With a real reputation for their glaring problems at the back, it should also be noted that BVB have really struggled with their performances on the road. Including that shock loss away at Freiburg earlier in the month, the one-time West Ham coach has seen his temporary squad lose each of their last three straight contests outside of rural Germany. Given Sevilla’s remarkable purple patch, Dortmund should face another stern test on Wednesday night.
