Sevilla 7/10 to beat Lille in Tuesday’s Champions League showdown

Competition: Champions League

Odds: 7/10 @ 888sport

Turning their attention back to Champions League duties on Tuesday night, Sevilla will welcome Lille to the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

Starting with the hosts, managing to pick up some perfect momentum over the weekend as they secured a deserved 2-0 win against Osasuna on home soil, Sevilla will be desperate to keep up that form. Hanging onto their spot in the top-two while on Champions League duties and facing what could be a crucial meeting on Tuesday night, the Spanish outfit should find the mood in their camp at a real high. Battling it out at the top of the La Liga table, Head Coach Julen Lopetegui finds his side enjoying a five-match unbeaten run across all formats. Likewise, suffering just a single defeat since opening up the 2021/22 campaign, Sevilla have continued to shine on home soil. Including thumping victories against the likes of Valencia and Levante, it should be noted that the Spanish outfit have won each of their last four straight meetings at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

As for the visitors, throwing away the lead at PSG over the weekend and eventually getting hit with a late 2-1 defeat on the road, Lille have rather drastically struggled to match their stunning run from last season. Despite shocking many across Europe as they claimed the Ligue 1 title, new boss Jocelyn Gourvennec has seen his squad show a host of inconsistencies. Failing to win any of their last four matchups across all formats, a run highlighted by a shock 1-0 loss away at Clermont on October 16th, Lille have also gained a reputation for their extended problems on the road. Knowing that they should face a stern test when they make the trip to the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on Tuesday, Les Dogues have lost five of their last six away fixtures, a run that has also seen them lose their last three away fixtures on the spin.
