Reneilwe Letsholonyane said South Africa are well aware of the importance of the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone.

South Africa are currently second in qualifying group seven, one point behind Niger and equal with Sierra Leone.

Pitso Mosimane’s side must win on Saturday to guarantee a spot in the African Cup of Nations finals in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon next year, and the players were well aware of this fact according to Letsholonyane.

“This is a tough, must-win match for us, and we are well aware of how important it is for us to do well,” Letsholonyane told Kickoff.com.

“We would like to qualify for the 2012 Afcon and this is the one match we have to win to realise those dreams, even though we know that everything also depends on the other Group G clash between Egypt and Niger.”

“But we don’t have to focus on that, we must just do our job against Sierra Leone.”

The Kaizer Chiefs midfielder has returned to the national team after being out injured since just after the Nations Cup encounter against Egypt.

“I have played some matches for my club and I am feeling fine after that injury,” he said.

“I also believe that my fitness level has returned to where it should be and I know that if I get a chance to play against Sierra Leone I will give a 100 per cent to help my country to victory.”
