Spurs begin Ndombele talks

Tottenham Hotspur have begun talks about signing Tanguy Ndombele from Olympique Lyon, according to Sky Sports and their sources in Italy.

Apparently, the talks are still at a very early stage and nothing is even close to being agreed, but the Champions League finalists, who have been linked with Ndombele before, are ready to step up their efforts. They considered signing him as a replacement for Mousa Dembele last summer, but Dembele remained in north London for a further six months before eventually leaving for China in January.

Spurs are reportedly set to face tough competition for the midfielder’s services in the form of Juventus. The Serie A champions have been trying to raise the quality of their squad sufficiently to win the Champions League for several years now, and like Spurs, they see Ndombele as the man to make significant difference with his powerful presence in the middle of the park.
