Tottenham defender Kyle Walker has signed a new deal that will tie him down to the north London club until 2017.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed an impressive season at Spurs, featuring 45 times for the club in all competitions.

His impressive form saw him rewarded with an England debut and the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

The Sheffield-born defender was also named in the PFA’s Team of the Year to cap off a remarkable rise to prominence.

Walker was signed from Sheffield United in 2009 and was immediately loaned back to his hometown club before undergoing loan spells at QPR and Aston Villa.

He made his international debut in November when he helped England beat world champions Spain in November, before going on to earn his first start in the following friendly against Sweden.
