Stoke linked with shock Dzeko bid

Stoke City are lining up a shock move for Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko, according to the Express.

Current Premier League champions City are on the verge of signing Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony, a move which is likely to see Dzeko move down the pecking order at Eastlands.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina captain moved to the Etihad Stadium from Wolfsburg in January 2011, and has gone one to make one hundred and seventy-two appearances in all competitions, scoring sixty-nine goals.

During his time in England, he has won the league title twice and has also lifted both the FA Cup and League Cup while he has thirty eight goals in sixty-nine appearances at international level.

Mark Hughes has room in his squad for another loan addition after cutting short Liverpool winger Oussama Assaidi’s temporary deal, and hopes that Dzeko’s international teammate Asmir Begovic can help seal the shock deal.
