Bundesliga giants Stuttgart’s chairman Erwin Staudt has revealed that the club are willing to pay ‘extraordinary money’ to sign Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

The Madrid based club have already confirmed that negotiations to sell the Dutch international to Stuttgart have reached an ‘advanced stage’.

The 25-year-old former Ajax marksman, has only spent six months in the Spanish capital and has been linked with a string of clubs following Real’s mega spending this summer.

But it seems Stuttgart have taken an early lead to sign Madrid striker, with the club confirming that they are are prepared to spend big in their quest to replace Mario Gomez.

“Extraordinary players require extraordinary investments as they cost extraordinary money,” Staudt told Stuttgarter Zeitung.

“We will not be buying a substitute because we are also developing very good players in our own academy.

“We need a key player, a top-class man for the future.

“Such signatures require time and money, and we are willing to invest time and money into buying this player.”
