Talks continue between Liverpool and Salah

Liverpool are still locked in negotiations over a new contract for Mohamed Salah, according to Florian Plettenberg. However, the two sides remain far apart in terms of what is being offered and demanded, and no agreement is near at this point.

Salah, whose contribution for Liverpool since his arrival in 2017 is hard to measure, will run out of contract next summer. His numbers are fantastic – 221 goals and 99 assists in 366 appearances across all competitions, as is his trophy haul at the club – the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup, two Carabao Cups, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup. At the age of 32, he’s still going strong, with 10 goals and 10 assists in 17 matches in 2024/25 alone.

Liverpool have been known to lose important players over 30 as free agents in the past. As things stand at the moment, Salah has options in case he decides to leave, both in Europe and in Saudi Arabia.
