Buriram United missed the chance to extend their Thai Premier League lead on Sunday as the their nearest rivals all dropped points.

Buriram were held to a goalless draw by Bangkok Glass, with third-placed Chonburi and fourth-placed Suphanburi both also drawing.

The former were only able to muster a 1-1 draw at mid-table Army United, with Tanagorn Dangthong’s goal cancelling out Chakrit Buathong’s effort, while Suphanburi and Chiangrai United played out a 0-0 affair.

Second-placed Muang Thong United were not in action as they had been scheduled to face Sisaket, who have been expelled from the league.

Pattaya United’s poor form continued as they lost for the sixth time in eight games, going down 2-1 away at Osotspa. Chayanan Pombuppha and Kosawat Wongwailikit gave the hosts a 2-0 lead before Makhosonke Bhengu pulled one back.

Chalermwoot Sa-Ngapol’s men sit three points off safety, with Samut Songkhram currently occupying 15th place.

Their game with Bangkok United ended goalless on Sunday with the two sides now separated by one place in the league and three points.

Songkhla United bounced back from their 1-0 defeat to Bangkok Glass with a 2-0 win over Chainat thanks to goals in either half from Jules Baga and Manop Songaew while Ratchaburi sprung a surprise against BEC Tero Sasana.

Somchai Maiwilal’s men climb to 13th after their 3-0 victory against Sasana, who remain in fifth, with penalties from John Obregon and Douglas Rodrigues coming either side of Jose Cordero’s 79th minute goal.

The game was all but over by the time Apiwat Ngaolamhin was dismissed after 89 minutes.

TOT drop to 10th after their 1-0 defeat to Police United on Sunday, with Michael Murcy getting the all-important goal from the penalty spot after 76 minutes.

Pol-Udom Noppol was shown a second yellow card for TOT after 89 minutes.
