The best Fibonacci strategy in football betting

Leonardo of Pisa aka Fibonacci was born in the XII century and is a well-known mathematician who introduced arithmetics in European commerce. The Fibonacci system is based on a specific sequence of numbers used for the first time in India’s 200 BC. In this article, I will show you the best Fibonacci strategy in football betting.

What is the Fibonacci sequence?

The Fibonacci sequence is a string of numbers starting with 0 and 1, with each number being the sum of the two preceding ones: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, etc. The numbers that form the sequence are called the Fibonacci numbers.

This system has gained popularity among bettors and casino gamblers looking to explore this strategy to increase their profits. Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat and Craps are the most popular casino games where the punters are using the Fibonacci sequence trying to get an edge on the house.

How does the Fibonacci strategy work in football betting

To set up a successful betting strategy, you need a minimum of 2.62 odds for each bet you place. Of course, you can bet on singles, Accumulator or live betting as long as the odds are 2.62 or above. To illustrate better how the Fibonacci sequence works let’s use the following example.

The Fibonacci sequence

The Fibonacci sequence is illustrated in the stake column (0,1,1,2,3,5,8…) that increases each time the best is lost. I used odds 3 in this example to make the calculus simpler. After 6 consecutive losing bets, we are down 19 units. With the 7th wager turning out a winner we recovered all the losses and made a 6-unit profit at one of our recommended bookmakers. Once you win a bet, you start the Fibonacci sequence from step 1.

You can adapt the Fibonacci strategy according to your available bankroll. If you have a larger sum of money at your disposal, you can start the sequence from a higher number. For example: you have a bankroll of 435 and your goal is to win at least 1 bet from 8 placed. The Fibonacci 8 steps betting sequence on placing your stake will look like this:

  • 0,5,5,10,15,25,40,65,105,170 (435).

You resume from step 1 (5 unit stake) each time you have won a bet. Always remember that the first two numbers added (in this case 0 + 5) will be our first stake.

How to win at football betting using the Fibonacci strategy

Placing single bets or building Accumulators is one of the best ways to use the Fibonacci betting strategy in football. Since we need high odds (2.62 or above), we are very limited in our betting market options for single bets. We could also back the favourites on the HT-FT, going for a full-time result draw or using the Handicap option to hit the minimum odds required.

Betting on a full-time result draw in the Romanian Liga 1 (aka SuperLiga) is one of the easiest ways to  win at football betting using the Fibonacci strategy!

Due to TV rights, every game of a round is being played at different hours over 4 days. This gives you an option to explore the full-time result draw, betting on every single game. Looking at the stats below will indicate that a very good percentage of matches end undecided.

No less than 54 games from the 160 played so far ended in a draw. The odds will play a key role in being successful using the Fibonacci betting strategy. An average of 3.40 calculated based on the current season results is more than enough than the minimum of 2.62 required.

Looking at the complete table (see below) we can notice that every team has drawn at least once. U Craiova 1948 is at the lower limit with only 3 of their matches ending undecided. However, on the other hand, Petrolul (12), Otelul (11) and Hermannstadt (10) are all boosting a minimum of 50% draws.

How to win single bets using the Fibonacci sequence

Now that I have shown you the best football league to bet on a full-time result draw, let’s go ahead and set up a successful Fibonacci betting strategy. We can set up our strategy in 2 ways based on the statistics I displayed above, depending on our goals and most importantly our available bankroll:

  • Our goal is to win one bet for each round played. For example, if the bet is won after the 3rd game, we stop betting until the next round starts.
  •  Our goal is to win every time a draw occurs. In this case, we need a significantly higher bankroll to cover all the games being played in a season.

To simplify it, I decided to use the Fibonacci sequence in its original form (0,1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144…etc). You can adjust your sequence by starting with a higher number if you have a much larger bankroll.

The best Fibonacci strategy in football betting

After 20 rounds played, most of the draws occurred at the beginning of each round (1st, 2nd). There were also a few exceptions when only the 7th from 8 matches of the round finished undecided. In our particular case, we would only need 53 units to turn a profit of 116. This is quite good since using  53 units returned a 2X profit.

You have to keep in mind that in previous years there were rare instances when no draw results occurred in a full round. This is the reason I advise you to have a sufficient bankroll that will cover at least 2 full losing rounds without going bust.

How to manage betting risk using the Fibonacci sequence

If the above table shows you the lower-risk strategy to bet on, let’s have a look at what could have happened if we decided to bet on every single game of the season. Remember, after each bet is won, we start with the initial stake.

Let’s make things even more exciting by increasing the Fibonacci numbers and tweaking the sequence to our advantage. Because at each bet won we normally should resume placing the initial stake of 10 units, at the 2nd step we will jump to 20 units instead of using 10 again. Starting with 10 instead of 1, the 10-step sequence will look like this: 0, 10, 10, 20, 30, 50, 80, 130, 210, 340, 550 (the bold numbers represent the stakes).

Using a generous bank of 2310 units and chasing the draw in every single game played would have returned 1238 units in profit. This is thanks to the higher odds a final result draw is boosting coupled with our successful Fibonacci betting strategy.

You have to keep in mind this is a season-long game plan and not a get-rich-quick scheme. By no means you will get this high ROI in a couple of weeks. Also, don’t try with a small bankroll to hit the jackpot. It rarely happens. Patience and sticking to this strategy is the way to go.
