The Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) indicated that an elective general assembly will be held in March this year.

The decision to select March 31 for the meeting concludes a long saga that began following last year’s Tunisian revolution, when reports surfaced that the current Federal Bureau came to power in what was essentially a rigged election.

Until yesterday, FA president Anouar Haddad had resisted calls from both the Tunisian public and the ministry of sports to hold fresh elections like the rest of the federations in the country did after the January 14 uprising.

However, the man who replaced Bureau chief Ali Hafsi at the helm was forced to relent once his colleagues threatened to quit in number, automatically disbanding the under-fire Federal Bureau that had already lost three members.
