Turner close to signing new Hull deal

Hull boss Phil Brown has confirmed that Michael Turner is close to signing a contract extension with the club.

The new deal is expected to keep the 25-year-old at the club until 2012.

“I’m not jumping the gun on a deal, but we are sitting down with Turner’s agent,” he told the Hull Daily Mail.

“Talks are advanced and we’re hopeful of a deal.

“I know that people will be interested in the money we’re offering him but that’s something we aren’t going to disclose.

“The only thing Hull City fans will be interested in is the length of his stay, which will be increased by another year, so will keep him at the club until 2012.”

Turner has been linked with clubs like Liverpool and Manchester City.
