Atlanta United have now announced Tyrone Mears as their latest signing, having acquired his rights from Seattle Sounders in exchange for $50,000 in General Allocation Money.

The right-sided defender is expected to use his extensive experience to help the new Eastern Conference side, and he is already used to the competition having enjoyed two successful campaigns with Sounders.

Mears made a total of 74 MLS appearances since joining from Bolton Wanderers, scoring one goal in the process.

The well-traveled defender also played for Preston North End, West Ham, Derby County, Burnley and Bolton in the UK and also enjoyed a short spell with Marseille.
