Under 2.5 goals at St Johnstone vs St Mirren 8/13 for Wednesday’s Premiership contest

Competition: Scottish Premiership

Market: Under 2.5 goals

Odds: 8/13 @ Bet 365

Two sides in desperate need of three points, St Mirren will travel to fellow strugglers St Johnstone on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, slumping to yet another worrying display in their 3-1 loss away at Livingston earlier in the month, Tommy Wight’s side are still enduring their most worrying run in recent memory. Enduring a three-match losing run and still looking for their first victory since the 23rd of January, the former Manchester City keeper will be growing more concerned by his sides’ form in the final third. Along with conceding two or more goals in each of their last three defeats, Wednesday’s hosts haven’t scored more than once in a single matchup in 2019. Quickly freefalling down the Premiership table, midweek could prove to be another scrappy encounter for Johnstone.

As for the visitors, despite showing some very brief signs of life last month, St Mirren still find themselves sat three points adrift at the bottom of the Premiership table. Slumping to a 1-0 loss at home to Kilmarnock in their last appearance, their form away from the Simple Digital Arena will be a huge concern for Oran Kearney. Wednesday’s visitors have failed to win any of their last five matches on the road and have picked up just a single away victory all season. Also holding the worst attacking record in Scotland’s top-tier, we’re backing a very uninspiring contest in midweek.
