United and PSG to do battle over Sancho

According to Sunday Mirror, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are preparing for a battle over the signature of Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund.

The winger, apparently valued at over £100 million, arrived to the Signal Iduna Park last summer from Manchester City and has been nothing short of sensational for the Bundesliga leaders with nine goals and 14 assists in all competitions this season. In fact, his success in Germany and the recent departure of Brahim Diaz to Real Madrid have sparked some sharp criticism of the way the Premier League leaders have been treating their youthful talents.

City’s loss has been Dortmund’s gain so far, and it seems other clubs have decided that they want in on the action. United are looking to rebuild their team following the end of the Jose Mourinho spell, and with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer currently doing a trial for the job, they will try to secure the tools for him or any other candidate that might yet appear.

PSG, who have recently proven they can beat United even without the likes of Neymar or Edinson Cavani, may wish to secure themselves against such long-term absences in the future, and adding Sancho, who turns 19 this month, would seem like a step in that direction.
