United keen to tie up Pereira deal

Manchester United are set to offer teenage sensation Andreas Pereira a new contract, according to the Daily Star.

The eighteen year old was a shock inclusion in Louis van Gaal’s match-day squad for Sunday’s 4-0 thrashing of Queens Park Rangers, before scoring in against Sunderland in a development game on Monday.

The midfielder, who spent five of years in PSV Eindhoven’s youth set up, has less than a year remaining on his current United deal, and face the prospect of losing him in a similar fashion to Paul Pogba unless they secure his services.

He had been capped by Belgium at U15, U16 and U17 levels, but switched to Brazil U20s this year as part of their Toulon Tournament campaign in Asia.

United’s victory at the weekend was their first of the season, and they will hope to continue their winning ways when they travel to Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.
