United ready to cut their losses and release Anderson

Manchester United are ready to take a hit on Anderson and let the midfielder leave the club on a free transfer in January, according to the Daily Star.

Both Gremio, where he began his professional career and Flamengo in the 26 year old’s native Brazil have registered an interest in the former Porto man, who has played just twenty minutes of league football so far this season.

His only start since Louis van Gaal took charge came in the shock Capital One Cup defeat to League One side MK Dons, and he spent the second half of last season on loan at Serie A side Fiorentina.

Anderson moved to Old Trafford in July 2007 and has racked up one hundred and eighty-one appearances for the club and scored nine goals, as well as winning four league titles, two league cups, the Champions League and the World Club Cup on the way.
