United told to sign Cavani

Manchester United should sign Edinson Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to Robin van Persie.

The former Dutch international was a prolific goalscorer himself, and having played against Cavani during his illustrious career, he believes a striker of such quality could being his former club somewhere in the region of 25 goals per season, as he told Sport Bible.

The Uruguay international has been linked with United before, but the move never happened. This winter he was reportedly very keen on joining Atletico Madrid, but the Rojiblancos failed to follow their public interest through with an offer that would have been deemed acceptable by PSG. However, the 32-year-old will be out of contract this summer, and given the obvious truth of Van Persie’s words when it comes to quality, acquiring his services without paying a transfer fee would certainly be a coup for any club across Europe.

But it remains to be seen whether United would be an attractive destination for such a player, especially if they miss out on Champions League football again.
