Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta believes talks over a new deal between the club and goalkeeper Victor Valdes are going well.
Recent rumours suggested the shot-stopper was considering leaving Camp Nou once his current contract expires in 2014.
But Zubizarreta has quelled such speculation and insists that everything is on course for a new contract.
“The conversations we’ve had with his agent and with him are going well. I won’t talk about rumours,” Zubizarreta told AS.
The former Spain international also took the chance to praise David Villa, who scored two goals in Barcelona’s comfortable 5-0 win over Cordoba in the Copa del Rey on Thursday.
“The public’s reaction and that of his team-mates was excellent. It’s not just the two goals he scored though, he’s such a high quality player,” Zubizarreta said.
