Valencia eyeing Luuk de Jong

Superdeporte understands that La Liga giants Valencia are hot on the trail of PSV Eindhoven striker Luuk de Jong.

Los Che wanted to sign the 26-year-old last summer as a replacement for Paco Alcacer, but they eventually cooled off their interest as Munir El Haddadi arrived at Mestalla.

However, new boss Cesare Prandeli believes the attacking department needs to be reinforced and it would appear as though Valencia have rekindled their interest in De Jong.

Los Che officials watched the towering striker in the Champions League clash between Atletico Madrid and PSV Eindhoven, and they could soon open talks with the player’s employers.

Luuk de Jong has been in brilliant form since returning to the Netherlands, scoring 49 goals in 78 Eredivisie outings.

His spells with Borussia M’gladbach and Newcastle United were quite disappointing though, but Valencia chiefs do not seem to mind and look determined to bring him to Mestalla.
