Valencia keen on Belgian goal-machine

Spanish radio station Cadena Ser is reporting that Valencia are interested in signing Genk striker Jelle Vossen.

Los Che are looking to sign a new striker who would act as a back-up for Roberto Soldado and they have singled out the 23-year-old as their number one target.

The Spanish La Liga side will try to sign the player as soon as the transfer window reopens in January.

Jelle Vossen has long ago been tipped to leave Genk for greener pastures and he was on the verge of joining Serie A side Pescara in the summer.

However, the talented forward remained in Belgium after the two clubs failed to agree on the transfer fee.

Vossen has recently developed into one of the most prolific strikers in European football, having scored no less than 40 league goals over the last two seasons.

The Belgian international has enjoyed a bright start to the new league campaign, netting 3 times in 6 appearances.
