Former South Africa international Elrio van Heerden has returned home – joining Golden Arrows after months of being without a club.
Van Heerden, who has been capped 33 times for Bafana Bafana, stopped training with Pretoria-based SuperSport United on October 28 after negotiations hit a brick wall.
Now the winger has surfaced in Durban, with Arrows coach Muhsin Ertugral influential in getting him to join the club.
The relationship between the pair goes back to their days at Sivasspor in Turkey a couple of seasons ago.
Van Heerden, 28, last played for KVC Westerlo in Belgium, before returning to South Africa in the hopes of landing a contract in the Premier Soccer League.
