According to a recent report from AS, Real Madrid are set to make Raphael Varane one of the highest paid players at the Bernabeu. The young defender is considering whether or not his future lies at the club at this moment in time, with Paris Saint-Germain being the leading contenders to sign his signature – which makes sense, given that he recently helped to guide France to World Cup glory.

Real are of the belief that a £2.5 million per year increase in his salary will be enough to convince him to stay, which would certainly be an effective bonus for the majority of players throughout world football.

Varane has already achieved pretty much everything you could hope to achieve in the game, and now, it’s all about where he feels the most comfortable. He has been honing his craft in Madrid for quite some time now, and it’d probably take a sizeable effort to take him away from the club.
