Villa to join Man City

Valencia striker David Villa is set to join Manchester City in a £52million switch in the January transfer window.

City boss Mark Hughes will make the Spaniard his first world-class signing in the upcoming transfer window.

City’s Arab owners has agreed to the massive move for the Valencia ace as they are determined to bring world-class players to Eastlands.

A source close to the deal told News of the World: “It is clear City need a world-class striker and Villa fits the bill.

“The Arabs have been impressed with him and Mark Hughes is convinced he will do well in English football.

“His agent will be flying in on Tuesday and there is every chance talks and a deal will be concluded by the end of the week.”
