Villarreal lock horns with Sparta Prague at the Estadio El Madrigal tonight in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final bout, and are favourites to come out on top to take an advantage going into the second leg at the Generali Arena later this month.
The Spanish La Liga side have been very impressive in the competition this season. Villarreal have won all five of their home games in the Europa League ahead of tonight’s clash, and are unbeaten in their last nine outings. The Spaniards haven’t even conceded a goal at home, so Sparta will in for a tough encounter.
Sparta are unbeaten in the Europa League, boasting five wins from their last six in the competition. They beat Lazio in Italy in the previous round to make it this far, and have impressed on the road more than on home soil. Three away wins on the bounce is sure to give Villarreal problems, but the Spaniards should deliver.
