Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic hailed his team’s determination after they won through to the Coppa Italia final at the expense of AC Milan.

Vucinic’s side held a 2-1 lead from the first leg and appeared to be on their way to the final when Alessandro Del Piero opened the scoring in Tuesday’s return clash at Juventus Stadium.

However, goals from Djamel Mesbah and Maxi Lopez forced the game into extra time.

But a Vucinic strike in the 96th minute made it 2-2 on the night to fire Juve into the final with a 4-3 aggregate victory.

“Milan caused some difficulties after the opener, especially with their ball possession,” Montenegro international Vucinic told reporters.

“But we managed to clinch this overall victory thanks to our drive, determination, running and sacrifice.”

“Just think about the defensive work carried out by the wide attackers and midfielders. And in extra time our effort was rewarded.”

“The most important thing is that the team achieves positive results. This evening, the fundamental thing was to get through to the final. We wanted it as much as our fans did.”

Juventus will face either Siena or Napoli in the final.

Antonio Conte’s side resume Serie A action when they host Inter on Sunday.
