Ward pens new Palace deal

Crystal Palace defender Joel Ward has put pen to paper on a new contract with the club, according to Sky Sports.

The 25 year old full-back has played every single minute of the Eagles’ Premier League campaign this season, and he scored his first goal for the club in last month’s 3-1 win over Queens Park Rangers.

He moved to Selhurst Park from Portsmouth, and has racked up one hundred and one appearances in all competitions so far.

Aside from his four years at Fratton Park, he had loan spell with Bournemouth during the 2008/09 campaign, and his new deal with Palace will see him remain with the club until the end of the 2017/18 season.

Crystal Palace have won their last four league games in succession and have taken fifteen from the last eighteen available to move them to within touching distance of the top half of the table.
