Watford 5/4 to beat Southampton in Tuesday’s Premier League matchup

Competition: Premier League

Market: Watford win

Odds: 5/4 @ Bet 365

Desperate to reclaim that lucrative seventh spot, Watford will host a Southampton side who are still yet to secure another season in the top-flight.

Starting with Tuesday’s hosts, picking up a 2-1 win away at an already relegated Huddersfield over the weekend, Watford are enjoying their brightest campaign in recent memory. With an FA Cup Final to look forward to next month, a huge part of Javi Garcia’s push for Europa League football has been the Hornets’ continued success at Vicarage Road. Watford have lost just one home match in front of their own supporters in 2019 and have also now won three of their last four encounters in the capital. One man to watch for Tuesday’s hosts will be the inform Gerard Deulofeu. The former Barcelona winger has four in his last two and has also scored nine in his last 10 appearances across all competitions.

As for the visitors, shipping three away at Newcastle last Friday, Southampton will know they’re not out of the woods just yet. Despite making some clear improvements since Ralph Hasenhüttl’s arrival, the former RB Leipzig boss will be looking for his side to improve on their recent showing away from the South Coast. The Saints have lost three of their last four matches on the road and have recorded just a single away clean sheet since the 2nd of January. Given Watford’s stellar campaign and their continued success at Vicarage Road, we’re backing the Hornets to come away with the victory on Tuesday.
