Watford 5/6 to beat Huddersfield in Saturday’s Premier League battle

Competition: Premier League

Market: Watford to beat Huddersfield

Odds: 5/6 @ Bet365

England’s top league is back for another weekend of action as the festive period provides no rest in the hectic calendar of football. Every single team in the competition is desperate to pick up as many points as possible over December, which means a loss today could be hugely damaging to how well an outfit does across the month. With all of this in mind, Watford face Huddersfield on Saturday.

Watford have been one of the surprise packages of the season and they are looking to enter 2018 in as high a position as possible. They are currently in ninth in the league with 22 points, nine short of Liverpool in the last European place. More importantly though is the fact they are eight clear of the relegation zone, with Marco Silva’s primary objective surely maintaining the team’s Premier League status for next season. 26 goals scored is a very good return, but they have conceded 29 times, which has been hindering their progress this season.

For Huddersfield, their good start to the season is threatening to unravel around them following a number of very tough results in recent weeks. After 17 games they have picked up 18 points, but in their last five they have won just once, losing the other four. This means the newly-promoted side are just four points above the danger zone, with relegation a constant threat. Huddersfield have scored just 12 goals this season while conceding 29 times, which is a very poor record. With all of this in mind, we are backing Watford with odds of 5/6 from Bet365.
