Looking to continue their bright run of form at the back end of the season, Wellington will travel to a struggling Suncorp Stadium on Friday morning.

Starting with the hosts, shipping four away at Melbourne City last week and continuing on what is becoming a very sluggish end to the season, Brisbane are a side low on both form and confidence. With fans around the Suncorp Stadium watching their side endure a four-match losing run and at the heart of a battle to avoid finishing with the wooden spoon, the biggest ongoing concern for boss Darren Davies will be their continued defensive struggles. Conceding 13 goals on their losing run, the Roar have failed to record a single clean sheet since November and also hold the second worse defensive record in Australia’s top-tier.

As for the visitors, while Wellington might be coming off the back of 3-1 loss at Adelaide last week, the mood in Mark Rudan’s camp will be on a high. Winning their previous three outings and losing just two matches on the road since the start of November, the Phoenix are looking to end their season in impressive fashion. Led by leading goalscorer Roy Krishna who sits second in the A-League goalscoring charts, the visitors will also be boosted by their recent record against Brisbane. Wellington picked up a 4-1 win when the two sides met back in December and are unbeaten in their last five meetings.
