Arsene Wenger has reiterated his commitment to Arsenal and insists he will not be leaving the club at season’s end.

The Frenchman gave the impression that his time at the Emirates Stadium was coming to an end in an interview with French newspaper L’Equipe last week, but after the 2-1 win over Norwich City this weekend, the 62-year-old was forced to clarify that he intends to stay put.

Wenger is currently in his 15th year with the north London outfit and says he is totally committed and wants to show the fans an end result come the end of the current campaign.

Wenger told reporters: “I have a few more years to go.”

“It was a little sentence, if you read well, but I will stay and that’s it.”

“I can only speak for me – the club can decide to get rid of me tomorrow morning and I cannot interfere with that decision – but I am totally committed here and I will show you that at the end of the season.”

Wenger insists the only way he would even consider the club is if he had felt he had not done the team justice, but for now is totally focused on honouring his contract with the club.

He added: “I wanted just to say that this is the club of my life.”

“I have a contract that I will honour and the only way I would one day consider leaving is if I feel I have not done well enough for the club.”

“You cannot say you love the club and have a start like we had then ignore it. That is just what I wanted to say.”

“There is no mixed message in there. My commitment and love for this club is total.”

“The only way I would consider my future is if I was not doing well enough for the club.”
