Wenger Targets Brazilian Jadson; United Squash Sneijder Rumours

With Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri both reportedly leaving the Emirates this summer, Arsene Wenger is keen on improving his prospective midfield situation. The French boss has already signed talented midfield starlet Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain as a result of the expected departures of Fabregas and Nasri. Today the Gunners are being linked with £12 million rated Shakhtar Donetsk’s Brazilian midfielder Jadson.

Copa America Glimpses

Jadson is fresh off a disappointing Copa America with the Brazilian national team. Though the Samba Boys were far less than spectacular, Jadson has his moments of brilliance. The main highlight of the Brazilian star’s tournament was his fantastic goal from outside the box against Paraguay.

Jadson’s Club Career

Jadson’s professional career began in 2003 with Brazilian side Clube Atlético Paranaense. He remained at the club until 2005 and enjoyed tremendous success with the Furacão, scoring 21 goals in 65 league matches.

In 2005, Jadson made the switch to European football and joined Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk. His first season with the club was a successful one, when he bagged six goals in 20 appearances. 2010-11 was Jadson seventh season with Shakhtar Donetsk. In his seven years with the club, Jadson has made 257 appearances for the Ukrainian-based club, scoring an impressive 60 goals.

How Can Jadson Help Arsenal?

For one thing, Jadson would add instant quality and technique to an Arsenal side that are on the brink of losing their two best midfield players. He would also serve as an immediate replacement for either Nasri or Fabregas, with Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain considered to be a long term replacement for the two.

Is Jadson worth £12 million?

Yes. If the likes of Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson are worth £20 million, Jadson is certainly worth £12 million.

Manchester United Done Pursuing Sneijder

Many Manchester United fans have been logging onto the Internet everyday this summer, hoping the headline of their favourite football site would say, “Sneijder Set For Old Trafford Move.” According to The Guardian, the Inter Milan midfield maestro will not be joining Manchester United before the end of the summer transfer window. Though many Red Devils fans may disagree, this is actually good news for United. Here are the two reasons why.

Emergence of Tom Cleverley

Tom Cleverley has put together some great performances for the Premier League champions this preseason. His displays versus Barcelona in the Herbalife World Football Challenge and Manchester City in the FA Community Shield have impressed Sir Alex Ferguson and could land him the starting job ahead of United’s clash with West Bromwich Albion on 14 August 2011. The 21-year-old has also just been called up to the England squad and has a bright future at the Theatre of Dreams.

Mario Götze is the Better Option

I have been saying this for weeks, German starlet Mario Götze is the ideal footballer to replace Paul Scholes in Manchester United’s midfield. The Borussia Dortmund star earned his first start as a German international in a friendly versus Brazil this week. In a game filled with football’s top talents, Götze stood out as the best player on the pitch, for either team. If that doesn’t impress Fergie enough to make a bid for the 19-year-old, I don’t know what will.

we are sincerely tired of arsene wenger signing with his mouth. I think in d absence of fab and nasri the likes of eden hazard, johan guoccurf wil be a perfect replacement. And if u luk at d newcastle game u wil see dat we need a defender dat is strong in d air

That’s a valid point, but I think Jadson really fits the football Arsenal play so it wouldn’t be as tough as an adjustment for him..

one thing jadson doesn’t provide is physical presence and I am not convinced he will be successful in the EPL. especially if he is in centre midfield

@Sam. Do you think Jack Wilshere is a physical presence, because he also plays in central midfield…
