Nicky Shorey believes that West Brom are getting back to their best following their 2-2 draw at Sunderland on Saturday.

The left-back has been an ever-present for the Baggies this season and was happy with the football his team-mates have played despite winning only one of their seven games in the Premier League, leaving them in 17th position.

Roy Hodgson’s men threw away a two goal advantage at the Stadium of Light, but Shorey still thought they played some of their best football of the season.

“I think it (the Sunderland draw) was one of our best performances of late,” Shorey told the club’s official website.

“We passed the ball really well and caused them a lot of problems, to be honest, especially in the first half. And in the second we were quite comfortable.”

“It felt more like us. It felt more like the way we normally play with the way we were knocking the ball about.”

“We see all the time in training that the lads have quality on the ball and we showed that at Sunderland, which bodes well for the future.”

“I played against Wolves last year and it’s a big game for everyone concerned, like always, we really want to win the game.”

“It’s a tough division, it’s the best league in the world and it’s exciting, so it’s hard to keep clean sheets and play well.”

“But that’s what our ultimate goal is.”

With the international break this weekend, West Brom’s next match is not until October 16 when they host Wolves.
