West Ham want Cole back

Talk Sport is today reporting that West Ham United could be the club that make a move for Liverpool flop Joe Cole this month.

It seems as though Cole is free to leave Anfield after a poor time at the club since joining on a free transfer in 2012. He went on loan to Lille last season and now Rodgers is ready to let the player go as he is on big wages.

Queens Park Rangers and Reading are also keen on signing the 31-year-old, but it looks as though West Ham are leading the way.

It of course all started at Upton Park for the Englishman and he might want the final few years of his career to be with the Hammers. He left back in 2003 to join Chelsea, but it still a favourite with the fans at the club.

Sam Allardyce knows he would be taking a risk in signing Cole as he has not performed at the top level for a couple of years now. But, if he can regain some form and confidence, there is no doubt he can be a key man for the East Londoners and provide that bit of quality that the English Premier League demands.
