Boosted by knocking Hannover out of the Cup last month, Wolfsburg will once again travel to the HDI-Arena on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Hannover might have come within touching distance of securing a top half finish in the Bundesliga last season, it has been nothing short of a disastrous start for André Breitenreiter. Coming off the back of a 2-0 loss to their visitors in the Cup a fortnight ago, Hannover have now lost their last three matches on the bounce. Shipping three against Schalke last weekend, the hosts now sit a single point above the relegation zone. Along with failing to keep a clean sheet since the end of August, they have also now lost three of their last four matches at the HDI-Arena.

As for Wolfsburg, while they may have just avoided the drop last season, it has been a far more stable year for the Greens. While they may have come away on the end of a close fought 1-0 win over Borussia Dortmund last weekend, Bruno Labbadia’s side have only seen their stock rise. Now winning their last two matches on the road, a win would see them climb as high as ninth. If Wolfsburg are to mount a push up the Bundesliga table, they will be looking for leading goalscorer Wout Weghorst to carry on his impressive run of form, the Dutch striker now has two in his last three and also found the net against Bayern Munich last month.
