Wolfsburg are on the verge of signing Zurich left-back Ricardo Rodriguez, according to reports in Switzerland.
The 19-year-old defender is expected to complete a move to Felix Magath’s Bundesliga outfit in the coming days.
According to Blick, Wolfsburg have offered eight million euros for Rodriguez, but Swiss outfit Zurich are holding out for 8.3 million euros.
The two clubs are expected to reach an agreement soon, with Rodriguez said to be preparing to visit the German club later this week for a medical.
Rodriguez – capped four times by Switzerland – has garnered plenty of attenton in recent months, with Ajax, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Dynamo Kiev, and PSG all reportedly monitoring his progress.
Should he complete his transfer to Lower Saxony, the defender will join new signing Petr Jiracek. Wolfsburg have also been closely linked with Zenit’s Alexander Lukovic and Viktoria Plzen’s Vaclav Pilar.
