Wolverhampton Wanderers made contact to sign Gabriel Barbosa

Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Gabriel Barbosa from Flamengo in the January transfer window, according to 90min. It has been reported that Wolves have made contact regarding signing ‘Gabigol’, but Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Chelsea and West Ham United are also interested in the Brazil international striker.

Barbosa is open to leaving Flamengo and moving to the Premier League in the January transfer window. ’Gabigol’ has told his club that he is ready to return to Europe, having endured a tough spell at Italian giants Inter Milan. Flamengo want £30 million for the striker, but an initial loan deal could also be an option.

Wolves do not tend to score too many goals, although they do have a quality striker in Raúl Jiménez. Manager Bruno Lage could do with a new striker in the January transfer window.
