Xavi: Every game vital

Barcelona midfielder Xavi has conceded every La Liga match his side play is like a cup final.

Barca trail league leaders Real Madrid by 10 points, with just 15 matches to play.

That means every match Barcelona play is hugely significant as they attempt to reel in their rivals in a bid to win a fourth La Liga title in a row.

“Everything in the league is a final right now,” Xavi said.

“We can’t concede anything, we can’t even draw. We have to win everything and hope Real Madrid fail and lose some points.”

Xavi was quizzed on whether he would rather win the title or keep Pep Guardiola as coach, but refused to single one out.

Guardiola – who has been so crucial in Barcelona’s success in recent years – is not contracted at the Nou Camp beyond the end of the current season.

“I want Pep to renew his contract and I want to win the league if I could choose of course. If it is up to me to choose I want both. Both are important,” he said.
