Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti has issued a rallying cry ahead of their trip to Torino on Sunday.

Andrea Stramaccioni’s side went down 3-1 to Roma in their last Serie A match, with goals from Alessandro Florenzi, Pablo Osvaldo and Marquinho doing the damage for the capital club.

Argentina international Zanetti, who has been with the club since 1995, was disappointed with the way his side performed at San Siro two weeks ago and wants them to react positively in Turin.

“I expect an interesting game,” he told Tuttosport.

“Torino are a good team that are playing well. On Sunday we will definitely avenge the embarrassment we suffered at home to Roma.”

The 39-year-old has also praised new signing Antonio Cassano after the former Milan striker moved from the red to the blue side of the city in the off-season.

“Antonio is a very nice guy. He has fitted in well and is great fun, as well as obviously a great player,” he said.

“The strength of the team goes hand-in-hand with the cohesion that exists between the players. I have always said that the Inter dressing room was, and is, united.”
