Zanetti would like to see Masch at Inter

(GSM) – Internazionale defender Javier Zanetti would like to welcome Javier Mascherano at the San Siro.

The experienced skipper has encouraged the Liverpool midfielder to follow Rafael Benitez to Inter and play alongside many of his compatriots.

Mascherano is at the top of Inter’s shopping list and earlier this week the Argentina international expressed his desire to move to the reigning Serie A champs through his agent.

Speaking at the official unveiling of Inter’s new kit, Zanetti said: “Mascherano is a great central midfielder, he recovers many balls and is strong physically. He would do well in any team.”

The talismanic captain also gave his backing to Benitez who replaced Jose Mourinho earlier this summer.

“We can do a great job together. Every Coach has his own ideas. We are getting to know Benitez and soon we will also get to know his ideas.

“The important thing is that we keep the hunger we had in recent years.”
