Zenit to cash in on Salomon Rondon

Russian giants Zenit are prepared to listen to offers for star striker Jose Salomon Rondon, according to Izvestia.

The club from St Petersburg have agreed to sign Russia hotshot Artem Dzyuba from Spartak Moscow and in turn plan to sell one of their forwards to make room for the towering striker.

Taking into account FIFA Financial Fair Play rules and the fact that Salomon Rondon hasn’t quite managed to justify the hefty price tag, the club officials have decided the Venezuelan will be the one to leave.

Zenit have already informed the 25-year-old of their plans and told his representatives to start looking for a new club for their client.

Rondon arrived at St Petersburg in a mega money move from Rubin Kazan just a year ago, and he in turn managed 14 goals in just 19 league starts.

However, his inconsistency has proved to be a problem and it looks as though the Venezuelan won’t be staying at Zenit beyond the current campaign.
